What’s up, Governors! 🎮
Welcome back to the blog. Gold Heads are the rarest currency in the game. You don't want to waste them on someone who will be sitting on your bench during KvK.
In this April 2026 Tier List, we are cutting through the noise. We are focusing strictly on Endgame Open Field (Season 3 / SoC). We won't be talking about gathering or early-game epics here (except to give them their flowers).
How to read this list:
- S+= Game-breaking. Invest immediately.
- S= Meta-defining. Top tier.
- A= Viable. Great for filling out multiple marches.
- B/C= Niche or Outdated. Avoid investing fresh heads here.
Let’s dive in! 🚀

F2P & Low Spender Advice
Let's be honest – you're not going to max the latest S+ commanders as a free player. That's fine. Here's your battle plan:
- Expertise YSG. He is still the single best investment for F2P. Period. He works in PvE (barb chaining), PvP (field), and Canyon.
- Max Sun Tzu (Epic). He costs XP and tomes, not gold heads. Use him as your primary infantry march for a long time.
- Save your Gold Heads. Don't spend 10 here, 20 there. Save 700+ and commit to ONE commander. Recommended: YSG → Boudica Prime → Scipio Prime.
- Skip the middle tier. Don't invest in B-tier legendaries like Richard, Charles Martel, or Cao Cao. They feel good early but waste your heads long-term.
- Join an active alliance. The best F2P commanders come from chests. More chests = more sculptures.

Final Thoughts
The Rise of Kingdoms meta in April 2026 is defined by True Damage and Combo Attacks.
- Big Winner: Sun Tzu (Prime) has revitalized Infantry.
- Biggest Risk: Investing in old S-Tiers (like Nevsky or Guan Yu) who have quietly slipped to A/B tier.
- The Future: Keep an eye on the new Archer commander leaks—Zhuge Liang's throne might be wobbly.
Don't forget to check your in-game mail for those gift codes and always, always level up your Sun Tzu (Epic) if you haven't already!
