HSR 4.1 brings a complete overhaul to the Divergent Universe. Compared to previous versions, this mode introduces a brand-new deck-based route system, adds unique progression and power spike mechanics, and offers more gameplay options—while significantly increasing the overall difficulty. Let’s take a closer look at what has changed and how to approach it more effectively.
What should we focus on?
Domains become a deck
In the new version, Domains are organized into a deck-like system. Each time you select a Domain from the Draw Pile, all remaining options are moved into the Discard Pile. Once all Domains have been placed into the Discard Pile, a shuffle is triggered, and all Domains return to the Draw Pile. When should you reroll? There are two main situations: (1) When you did not draw the desired Domain while there are still target Domains remaining in the deck. (2) When two desirable Domains appear at the same time, rerolling can prevent wasting one valuable option.
In other words, the system now feels more like route planning rather than being passively driven by branching paths. This change makes each run more focused on build optimization and planning.

Masks are the top priority in the new version
Different Masks generate Wish Power through different mechanics. After upgrading, they not only enhance the Mask’s effects but also unlock various beneficial Miracles.
The core of this mode is to prioritize upgrading your Mask. Follow the Mask’s objectives and collect all resources that increase Wish Power to raise its level as efficiently as possible.
At the start, 3 out of 9 Masks are randomly offered. For consistent clears, the recommended choices are: Clown Mask, Gladiator Mask, Mecha Mask, Chariot Mask, and Lucky Cat Mask.
The main goal is to continuously upgrade your Mask — the higher the level, the higher your damage output. In the early stage, aim to reach Level 4 as quickly as possible, and always prioritize any Miracles that increase Mask levels.
How to play after the update?
The most common mistake in this version is sticking to the old playstyle — trying to take everything and grabbing anything that looks strong. In reality, the correct approach in the new version is much simpler.
First determine your Mask path.
Select your Mask first, then choose your Equations, Blessings, Curios, Weighted Curios, and strengthen Domains based on it. The Mask is the core of your entire run, not an optional add-on. If your Mask level falls behind in the first two layers, even strong Equations later on will often result in a run that feels workable but not smooth.
Beginner-Friendly Strategy
Equations and Blessings:The “Refusal of Fire” is a key Equation. If you don’t obtain it by the end of the first plane, you can save 500–700 Cosmic Fragments and refresh in the second plane (it is guaranteed to appear). You should also pick up other Equations that provide damage boosts and improve survivability. For enhancements, prioritize survival and “Scorch/Blaze” Blessings (you can reinforce survival further if needed). Do not sacrifice defensive Blessings or protocols just for damage.
Curios and Weighted Curios:Prioritize anything that provides damage boosts, defensive bonuses, Blessings, or Cosmic Fragments. In the early stages, try to upgrade the Forging Domain to Level 3, which allows you to obtain two Weighted Curios.

What teams does the new DU favor
Play it this way: the new flow favors action economy—teams that convert more actions and Skill presses into actual damage. If Highlight Moment builds up through Action Value advances and Skill usage, then grants immediate action or Extra Turns, you should prioritize lineups that benefit from higher tempo rather than relying on a single burst.
DOT Team
Core Strategy: Survivability is a major concern, so prioritize defensive Blessings and survival-oriented Curios.

Conclusion
DU looks less like “walk the path you’re given” and more like “build your own momentum,” with stronger checkpoints and more control tools baked into the run loop.
If you’re planning to test new setups the moment the patch hits and you’re a few pulls short for the teams you want to try, topping up HSR via LDShop is a clean backup—often cheaper, quick to deliver, and wallet-friendly when you’re pushing week-one upgrades.
